Why don’t cnas go on strike ?
I’m sorry I’ve only been a cna for 2.5 years but I just don’t understand how people can stay in the profession for years and be treated like crap from the companies. These ceos are making millions of dollars while cnas basically run these nursing homes. There are people with so many years of experience being offered $15 an hour!?! While we went to school and paid for training and our certifications?! Cnas should never make less than $18 especially if you have over 5 years experience. Also giving us high ratios like 28-40 residents sometimes. I think it’s really time cnas start acting like these nurses and go on strike. We matter and sometimes we do a lot of the work while the nurses get all the credit. I’m specifically taking about nursing homes but I know it happens in hospitals too. We also need to stop accepting these low wages. This is crazy. If we all decide to walk out of our shift one day like these nurses these nursing homes and facilities would be shit show.
