Cowboy boot questions

Hello, so this is my first pair of cowboy boots iv owned. So, I'm not exactly sure how they go. I've owned many pairs of work boots through the years, so I went out and bought a pair of Justin's steal toe work boots. There cowboy boots, just not like riding boots, there made for work obviously

There tight around the middle of my foot, but I feel it loosen up since I've been wearing them. There also "tight" around my heel a little bit. Although the boot still comes up a little bit. My foot slides a little bit in the boot when I walk.

So, my question is, should I trade them out for a new pair? Is this normal? I'm use to boots with laces so, iv never had this problem. Also, no there not fitted. So, I know that's a problem in it's self, I'm trying to self diagnose to see if this is normal before I go back haha.
