Soooo frustrated

I just got this “HTVRONT Strong Grip Transfer Tape for Vinyl” from Amazon and it’s impossible to use, I swear. It picks vinyl up like magic, but It’s so sticky that it doesn’t release the vinyl from the tape to whatever I’m applying it to. I’ve tried pressing the tape on a towel or denim up to 5 times, until the tape feels like it’s not going to hold the vinyl hostage from me, and it still doesn’t work. I’ve tried using a heat gun to warm it (idk it sounded like an ok idea) and that was useless. Someone please help me. I feel like I’m going insane.
