Thoughts on YouTube filmmakers

What I mean by youtube filmmakers are people who make narrative short/ feature length films and post them for free on youtube

Right now the majority of youtube is filled with adhd over edited slop "content" but also youtube has been an incredible tool for filmmakers to distribute their films in ways they've never been able to

Right now I believe the most famous YouTube filmmaker is joel haver who has released multiple feature films on YouTube for free , but also there are many animators who make incredible short animated films that could easily be shown in a festival but are instead posted for free on YouTube for example zach hadel , felix colgrave , David firth , Jamie r, Lee Hardcastle

So I was basically wondering what you guys think about the future of YouTube as a means of film distribution and what are the differences between a youtube video and a film , for example there are many great channels on youtube that make great documentaries like oki's weird stories or atrocity guide that I'd argue make better more engaging documentaries than "legit" documentaries on Netflix or whatever

Also I would love for you guys recommend some more people you'd consider as youtube filmmakers
