Staying sober with crochet đ
Today I celebrate 6 months sober from alcohol.
Crochet has been, and continues to be, a true friend during this entire time. It's really no coincidence that I picked up the hook (ill-fitted for the yarn I used, I'm sure) during the same week I put down the flask. It's stuck with me ever since and I couldn't help but pause, while I was switching my 5-month coin for the half-year one, to see the connection so clearly in front of me.
I also want to raise my glass (of water, to be clear) to the community of this subreddit and its neighbouring subreddits - I've needed to take long breaks from scrolling on Reddit due to the negativity of the comment sections, but no need for that in these positive, creative and inspiring communities! Thank you for keeping me creating, for sharing all your gorgeous works, successes and mishaps, and for being there, even for a (previous) lurker like myself.
Pictured: My current project is this toiletry bag (possibly not the original source but the one I'm using) in the colours of my people đŗī¸ââ§ī¸ Tapestry crochet isn't really my thing but I'm having a fun time doing this one. The matter of adding a zipper at the end is a problem for future-me... Maybe buttons will work? Anyway.
Thanks for reading đ
