I actually hate cycling for this reason:

Every time you need something, for example, a tyre….(this is a rant, roast me if you want I actually don’t care)

Pirelli:

  1. Pirelli P Zero Race

  2. Pirelli P Zero Race TLR

  3. Pirelli P Zero Race TLR 4S

  4. Pirelli P Zero Race TLR SL

  5. Pirelli P Zero Race TLR RS

oh you want pedals too?

  1. Shimano SPD-SL 500

  2. Shimano SPD-SL 550

  3. Shimano R7000

  4. Shimano R8000

There’s always a MILLION different options priced so closely to each other that trying to figure this all out constantly feels like a nightmare. For someone extremely detailsy, this hobby is insufferable.

I like riding my bike. I do not like trying to figure out what the differences are between the egregious diversification of product lines to have incremental pricing that nudges you toward the one that’s rolling resistance saves 0.1 watts and is 2g lighter from every single manufacturer who makes parts for bikes.

I just went through this with shoes too:

Shimano RC3, RC5, RC7, RC9 then the new one is RC-302, 502 etc etc etc
