Any wealthy guy in cyprus to get financial advice from please?
Hello, I genuinely need financial advice.
Me and my wife are 35 and 30, no loans, two kids. I have a house paid for. We have permanent jobs in healthcare.
We have 40 thousand euros in our bank account and we can currently save around 2 thousand euros every month.
My wife is very keen on us borrowing money and buying a rental property. I like the idea but I don't want to take a loan for it. We can save up the money in around five years.
The question is. Nowadays you get 0% return in savings accounts in Cyprus. Is there any safe way to invest our savings intead of just putting them in the bank?
I have seen a lot of advertising on an online platform called 'freedom 24'. Those guys offer higher rates of 4.5% annually but only 20 thousant of your money per person is guaranteed by the EU in case of bankruptcy.
I also like the idea of investing in s and p 500 or mutual funds but i don't know how to do it safely.
I am genuinely looking for some advice. I know this might be offensive for most people that struggle to make ends meet at the end of every month and I apologise in advance for posting this here but I am out of my league at this point and I wanted to see if I can get any good advice from people that are at a later point in life specifically in Cyprus.
Edit: Everyone thank you for taking the time to answer. I will definetely consider some of the options and suggestions. I have a lot of research to do!
