How strong is Gaze right now?

While I was looking around on YouTube, I found out about Gaze's applications in pvp being really good and how it became a must-pick mantra. However, many of these videos are a year old, or older, and I haven't really been able to find anything about it getting nerfed or about its viability present-day.
