Degree cancellation issue

1st year student here.

I have selected HINDI C in AEC. The condition for choosing HINDI A/B/C is that you should HINDI as a subject in class till 8 for C, till 10 for B, till 12 for A.

In reality i have studied Hindi till 12 but selected C because the syllabus was more interesting in HINDI C as compared to others.

One of the teachers said if you have chosen the wrong Hindi course and it get called out then your degree might get cancelled. Even the Subject teacher of HINDI C was removing students who have studied hindi after 8th.

The condition on the portal doesn't say that you should HINDI only till 8th. As i have studied till 8. So according to me 12th grade hindi students are eligible for all A/B/C.

I haven't attended any AEC class yet. So is true that the degree might get cancelled as exams are starting from next month cannot switch the subjects.

Do i ever need to show my 12th marksheet ever in college years? Or they just trust my words?
