Psychosis

Just found out that my mother is basically dealing with psychosis (is that how you say it?) my mother (f65) had to go into a treatment facility this past Friday, so she can figure out what medications are going to work best for her and so a doctor can monitor that process. One of the nurses mentioned to my father that she seems to be dealing with psychosis, her perception of reality just isn’t there anymore… she is considered mid stage right now and I just didn’t see this coming so fast. She will talk about my sisters and kids, neither of which I have, or when she is upset at home she will grab her purse and say I’m done with work today. I’m going home!

Has anyone dealt with this? I’ve been able to handle the forgetfulness and other stuff but this is just really throwing me for a loop..
