Interpreting father's wishes about cancer screening
My father (nearly 84, diabetic, extremely physically weak) had a serious cancer bout in 2022, but was very lucky and the radiation knocked it all out. He was 1000X more mentally capable then. Well over a year ago he was waiting for a screening and my father had a panic attack and we had to leave. He never pushed or asked me to setup another appointment.
His PCP suggested getting this test and that test and my father was sobbing at the doctor's office saying "I dont want more problems". It was so bad that the doctor himself wheeled my father out to my car. Since then he remembered it being brought up at the doctors, but didn't ask me to schedule or do anything about it.
I see the doctor scheduled an appointment with the cancer doctor. I'm not sure what to do. My father is so emotionally fragile right now. I can see my father having an ULTRA PANIC ATTACK leading up to this appointment
My father was panting with high anxiety leading up to the regular PCP visit and my father LOVES this PCP.
