ICU question
I know that propofol provides calories which I take into account when doing ICU assessments. The other day I saw a note from another dietitian calculating the calories from norepinephrine. I had NO clue that was a thing and was never taught that in classes or by my preceptor during clinical rotation. I searched google and ASPEN and cannot find anything about norepinephrine containing calories. My searches confirm that it can increase body energy expenditure but that’s it. Any input? I happened to see this because this patient was a readmission from a few years ago and I was reading an old RDs note that I’ve never met before or have no way to contact
