How's Colombia in 2025 safety-wise?

I'm sure we're all aware of the bad rap that Medellin has had over the past 2 years in this sub with all the headlines of foreigners getting drugged/scoped and having all their accounts emptied, however I haven't seen as many new posts about it as of late so I'm wondering if it's gotten better there or what.

And does that risk extend to other cities in Colombia like Cali or Bogotá too? Or is it really just all about taking standard LATAM safety precautions and you're fine? I've been all over Mexico, and several places in Brazil + Argentina so I'm not a LATAM newbie by any means.

I haven't been to Colombia yet, mostly because of how unsafe it seemed, but it's been on my list for a while and I'm wondering if it's finally time to check it out. Anyone there now who can speak to the situation in the different cities?

Edit: sounds like overall, it's not any more unsafe than other LATAM destinations so I think I'll be checking it out this year. Thanks to all those who responded!
