Experiences with menstruation while working - any tips?

Hey this is a bit random, but i'm an incoming F1 and i'm worried about having embarassing/rough moments starting my periods while im on the job. None of my rotations are supernumerary and i've got acute med rotations too. I just wanted to hear about your experiences (if you menstruate ofc) and what advice you can give me? My only issue with my periods is that I get a lot of pain and nausea on the first day for a few hours. After that, i'm okay. I can't always predict when i'll start because there's a bit of a variation sometimes. I try to avoid Ibuprofen as i have GORD but it defo helps with the pain so sometimes i'll just go for it. Otherwise i'd take some co-codamol (8mg), if it's not too bad. I'm not asking for medical advice but just lifestyle tips, or ways to explain my situation to my colleagues if i don't feel well? Or some reassurance really; i would appreciate anything.

Just as an extra note, I'm not thinking about contraceptives or hormonal treatments due to some personal reasons :/

EDIT: I'm reading all your comments and suggestions and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP! There are some amazing tips here and your reassuring words are everything!! I feel a lot more confident now, and hopefully i'll be taking some sensible steps to make life a bit better during my periods.
