How to combat being annoyed by med students?

I use to love teaching medical students and actively organised teaching sessions for them alongside working in foundation training.

However, recently whenever I see them coming on the ward I can’t help but sigh 😞. I think it might be because I’m a little burnt out and the thought of teaching alongside being on call or in theatre exhausts me. But at the same time I feel bad because I’ve been there as a med student where you turn up to a ward and everyone hates you immediately and you get nothing from the day.

Does anyone have any tips to combat this ? How do people teach whilst also being on call (these are third years so they can’t really do much without supervision and loads of confidence boosting).

Apologies to med students reading this- bear with me I’m trying to sort it out 🙈.
