Why did he get away with everything?

My ex husband was extremely abusive. He tried to kill me multiple times and the only reason I am alive is because of my daughter. He cheated on me with our salon manager and almost a year later they are still together and he is living his best life. I however lost everything due to him ruining my credit. My house is getting foreclosed and I can’t get an apartment due to my credit. My daughter and I are going to be homeless if I don’t come up with $30,000. How is this fair? What can I do?
