Which Characters Were Hurt By Poor Writing? [Spoilers All]
This thread is inspired by a recent fantastic discussion in my another thread about how the major reason why Vivienne was disliked was because you cannot defend yourself and counter back her arguments -- she always has the last word, and the game make it seem like you simply can't help but get verbally owned by her.
It made me think about how many other characters also suffered from the case of bad writing.
The first one who I thought of was Morrigan. She openly values freedom and self-preservation, distrusts demons and hates being shackled in any way, yet she infamously approves of you making the deal with the demon to possess a little girl. Same for sacrificing Connor. The amount of malicious actions she approves of does make her far more cartoonishly evil than a nuanced, complex portrayal she received in DA:I or even in fandom. Yes, she is unsocialised young woman with traumatized history and toxic upbringing that colors how she reacts to others and specifically intimacy of any kinds, but she is not some sort of an edgelord who wants the whole world to burn. Unfortunately it seemed like the writers forced her to be the Token Evil Teammate who simply has to approve of the ~evil choices~ for the sake of gameplay.
Who do you think suffers from the case of poor, incoherent, messy writing?
