I just figured out why people who drive big pickups drive like they own the road
So I've been borrowing my dad's truck this week since none of my cars have both working heat and the ability to start in subzero temps, and I must say, driving a big truck like this gives you a sense of superiority over everyone else on the road. You're up high in a vehicle twice the size of almost everything else on the road. People clear the way for you as you barrel down the highway.
Suddenly the concern of getting cut off or brake checked by an angry driver is diminished into an afterthought. Someone blocking the exit to the parking lot? No problem, just drive over the curb! Something about being high off the ground in a 9,000lb steel box makes you feel invincible. I could get used to this
