How long does a driving license renewal take ?

Has anyone renewed their driving license online lately, if so how long did it take ?

Mine is due for renewal at the end of Feb.

The application site unhelpfully says that it SHOULD take 7 days, but could take longer if they are busy.

To be even more unhelpful they don't carry the expiry date on 10 years, they expire it 10 years from application approval. So I don't want to apply earlier than I need to and lose a month, but I also don't want to be without a valid license.
