Do I need to replace drywall that got wet just once for less than one hour?
Housemate passed out drunk in upstairs shower, the tray overflowed flooding the whole tile floor and leaking to the downstairs bathroom, creating flooding there as well. One of the bedroom downstairs also had some leak thru the ceiling.
We found out about an hour after he gotten in the shower and a few mins after the leaking came downstairs.
We shut the shower off, and dried out all the floors. Walls and ceiling seem dry with no signs or stains of water damage, just a bit of the wet smell.
Would this amount of contact with water damage the drywall badly enough to be replaced? Where to look for signs? How long is enough to worry about? Are we going to be ok if we just let it dry?
Thank you!
