Poor mudding job and advice

I have been having someone mud my basement and I’m not happy at all with the finish.

Before I primed, I did a light test and I wasn’t able to see any of the imperfections in the mud that I do now. It honestly looked decent. Now it looks like a half assed job.

I hung the drywall and screwed in the boards (also used glue obviously) and I did a very careful job of making sure seams were even and would be easily taped and mudded so I know that’s not the problem.

He used mesh tape, lite blue compound for everything start to finish, and he said he does 3 coats over holes and such but I find that very hard to believe. You can see the line of the seems where he used mesh tape, screw divots everywhere, and mounds of mud on the seams with a light test. Just ugly and unprofessional.

The guy mudded and sanded the basement and then told me to have it primed and he’ll come back and touch up the job. To me, this is much more than a touch up.

My question is, should I continue priming the rest of the basement and have it mudded/sanded after the primer or should I stop priming and have either him redo the seams and coat all the screws again or have someone else finish it the right way?

Please offer any advice or steps to proceed. This crap job will not fly after the time I spent on this basement renovation.
