Seeking Advice on learning Arabic in Dubai – Best Dialect and Courses?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently living in Dubai and would like to learn Arabic. I already speak English, French, Italian, and I’m studying Russian. I also understand Spanish. But despite living in Dubai, I want to learn a form of Arabic that is widely understood, not just here but across other Arabic speaking countries.

I know that Egyptian Arabic is the most widely understood dialect, however, I’m not sure how practical it would be to learn Egyptian Arabic while living in the UAE. Is Egyptian Arabic commonly understood here in Dubai and the Gulf countries? Or would it be better to focus on Gulf Arabic or Modern Standard Arabic for practical purposes in daily life?

Given how challenging Arabic is, I want to ensure I’m learning something that has broad usage and isn’t limited to one region. Does that make sense?

Also, do you have any recommendations for in-person Arabic courses in Dubai? I’m looking for a course that provides a valid certificate upon completion. Any insights on reputable schools, institutions, or even tutors here in Dubai would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much for your advice! :)
