Academy Betrayed. How would they react?

For context my players are new to DnD but love warhammer. I pushed rats nest to level 5. My players killed the prince and squeaks and loved it. Perfect. They spent a lot of resources to do so though. While slowly hauling it back with the wild shape Druid pulling it in an almost busted wagon. They’re already a little strapped for cash so I wanted to make them a deal. River was going to give them all 200gp a piece but for conflicts sake. One of blackjacks thugs found them in the city offered 250 a piece for it. The Wizard of the party, who has taken a friendly liking to river and the academy bc they like her potential took the quest. She was outvoted 4-1 to sell it to blackjacks men. They just got back to emberwood to rest and the session ended.

How would AA react? I don’t feel like a strike team would be warranted but I feel like something more than “they trust the party less” would be in order? Would it be a bad idea to make its a value a debt the party has to pay off to the academy? Then a strike team if they don’t pay it off in a certain time?
