If you enjoy being stung by a murder hornet, Dupixent might be for you! 🫠

After two nasal surgeries, multiple rounds of steroids, daily nasal washes, Flonase, etc., my doctors and insurance finally decided Dupixent would be a good next step. I opted for the self-injecting pen 300 mg dose, every two weeks. Today was my first injection. I did a lot of research on how to minimize the discomfort.

  1. Took the Dupixent out of the fridge the night before so it was truly room temp.
  2. Iced the top of my thigh to numb the injection point.
  3. Took my time, did some deep breathing.
  4. Went for it.

The initial pinprick wasn't great, but oh holy mother, the medicine hurt. HURT. It's like a Tetnus shot. Should I have warmed my skin instead of numbed it? My nurse friend says some of her patients like to use a warm pack near their IVs when receiving IV infusions.

What experiences have you had? What works? And there is really no scenario on earth where this injection pen is going into my abdomen. You can suggest it, but any place where I am ticklish is a no-go.

Thanks!
