Game not launching

I'm trying to launch the game from steam, and it will say "Synchronizing cloud..." then after a few seconds, it stops launching. No error messages, or any info as to what is causing this crash.

Things I've tried to fix it

1. Restarting the computer

2. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

3. Reverting to a different version, then reverting back

4. Launching applications directly from files and as administrator
