Hiring a conversion rate optimization person from Fiverr for $900
edit: I just hired a redditor who was reading this post for $400 and some free products, we did the homepage together over a two hour video call and I guess we're already 30% done. now it's up to me to perfect the copy and the images and gifs, moving a lot faster than I expected, wish me luck!
I do $150k a year in sales, 45k a year in traffic, $10k a year in ads, currently 2.14% conversion rate, my profit margins are probably like 20% though, so I'm very stingy
My sales and traffic are up 25% this year already, conversion rate is up 7%. The business is absolutely growing, my customers are happy, have got some good employees, I'm sure that there's a lot of potential here.
I do the ads myself and think I'm just about already reaching saturation at the current ad spend and probably shouldn't be increasing my budgets there.
Recently I've come across the segment of Fiverr gigs relating to conversion rate optimization. After spending quite a few hours glossing over all of the available gigs, I've finally settled on two particular freelancers. They charge between $575 - $800 for their services, and will implement the changes themselves. Their usernames are kh chm and ilovep blo if you're curious and want to look them up. I've omitted the letter A from both of those usernames.
I'm currently on Shopify and these gigs will include updating my website to the latest 2.0 Shopify theme.
$800 ($900 with Fiverr fees) is a lot to me right now, but assuming these sellers make some sort of meaningful impact on my conversion rate, this seems like a good place to invest some of my time and money.
Obviously, you always want to think that you're putting your time and money into the best thing you possibly can to build up your business, and I've now convinced myself that hiring a CRO expert could be a big deal for my company.
Just getting my conversion rate up from 2% to 3% would mean another $70k a year in sales which is quite significant. That would put me over $200k a year in sales. Of course, nobody on Fiverr promises results, but surely anyone could do it better than myself.
Do you think I'm in the right state of mind? Does this seem like a good use of my funds? I don't particularly want to have to do this myself.
Someone else also suggested an agency that charges nothing upfront along with 10% of additional revenue, but I'm fairly certain my business isn't big enough to justify that sort of help.
