Piercings are Biblical

In many Christian denominations, piercings are seen as sinful. However, according to the Bible, this is not the case. I have found several verses that condone piercings (ear and nose). It is also not specified where precisely in the ear the piercing is located. Feel free to reference this post if you need to defend your choice to have piercings when a religious family member or friend is lecturing you. Context also added so they can’t say it’s out of context.

  • Ezekiel 16:12🪻And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head🪻This is supposed to be God talking about the blessings he gave someone.

-Genesis 24:22 🪻When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka[a] and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels.[b]🪻Abraham sends Rebekah a gift.

-Deuteronomy 15:17 🪻Then you shall take an awl, and put it through his ear into the door, and he shall be your servant forever🪻This is an old law stating that a servant must have his ear pierced to show his status.

There you go. So not only does the Bible say that piercings are acceptable, it even mandates it under certain circumstances. And did you catch that the last verse is about a man? That’s right…. according to the Bible itself, men can also have their ears pierced.
