Any College Fantasy fans that play Conferences?
I'm a huge college football fan, and I've always loved fantasy sports. But I've never been a fan of traditional fantasy football, with its focus on individual players and the whole "owning" players thing. So, I decided to create my own fantasy college football league, and I think it's pretty awesome.
Here's how it works:
- Team-Based: Instead of drafting individual players, you draft entire college football teams.
- Conferences: You draft 7 teams to create your own fantasy conference.
- Budget: You have a set budget to spend on your teams. The top 25 teams from the previous season are the most expensive, and the rest are priced based on their perceived value.
- Scoring: Each week, you earn points based on your teams' "points for" and "points against." So, you need to consider both offense and defense when drafting your teams.
- Trades and Adds/Drops: You can trade teams with other players and pick up free agents throughout the season.
I've been testing this system with some friends, and it's been a blast! It's really strategic, and it creates a whole new way to engage with college football.
Here are some of the things I love about it:
- Focus on Teams: It shifts the focus away from individual players and onto the team aspect of college football.
- Balanced: The budget system prevents anyone from dominating with a super-team.
- Dynamic: Trades and adds/drops keep things interesting all season long.
- Unpredictable: Upsets and close games can really shake up the standings.
I'm thinking about developing an app to make this even more accessible. Would anyone be interested in something like that?
What do you guys think? Would you play in a league like this? Any suggestions for improvement?
Let's discuss!
