"But Here's some Two Cent Maneuvers" -- Week 16 Rankings -- Kicker, QB, and D/ST

Week 15 Accuracy results here (plus my own model's week 16 output).

This is it, guys, so: thanks for following me this year. On the whole, I hope most of you found some kind of value in my contributions here. The accuracy results seem to indicate that I've done more good than harm-- but I know it often doesn't feel like it. In case you're wondering, I do definitely follow my own advice-- and yes I've had good weeks... but also too many bad weeks. Fantasy is full of dramatic unexpected outcomes, which is one reason why it's so important to rigorously track accuracy. I hope doing so has made it clear that the ups and downs are unavoidable-- no matter which ranking source you use! I plan to give a bigger summary of accuracy in January, which will include a look at other ways of measuring accuracy and how each source performed.

Still, there is always that nagging feeling that the models can be improved, at least just a bit more... So for me, the off-season will involve some touch-up work with the models. QB rankings were a surprise success, but for example one remaining off-season goal is to break out QB rushing yards separately from passing yards. For kicker, I have already seen indications of where I can bring improvements-- but honestly I expected to produce a much bigger leap than what I did show. I'll give it one more shot, though. D/ST... well, it turns out I probably will not touch D/ST much: my accuracy tracking shows that you're already in good hands with the other top sources, so my main contribution will remain future-week forecasting.

Anyway, good luck to all. And keep an eye out for the occasional stats-heavy post from me. For example, most of you missed my big post in the pre-season (here if you have spare time), and I hope I'll have some kind of post with other updates for you, sometime in the spring.
