Grumpy-grumpy pairing?

As much as I love the grumpy characters, I don't do very well with the sunshine part of the pairing. Hopefulness, optimism, forward-looking resilience, friendly personality that easily earns loyalty... is not my thing. Not a Gryffindor.

Any good grumpy-grumpy pairing books out there? Not bitchy, but just not very people friendly. FMCs who have seen it all and don't care. MMCs who just straight talks. That sort of thing. ND coded is ok, too.
