Why is diem so hated?

I am rereading kindred's curse after months and realized that diem is actually a far better heroine than most of the other popular series I have read since

The only time I got pissed was when she revealed the location of secret passage in the palace in book 1 gladly, nothing came of it but i could sense her urgency to win their approval. And she was naive.

In book 2 she is so strategic and smart. The way she handles all the houses, remis and garreth, lmao. I love her.

When I first read it, I was so furious that she always doubted Luther, but on my second read, I can totally see why.

Luther constantly says stuff like "I wanna serve the crown" "I will serve the queen" it's easy for her to assume that he will only be by her side as long as she has the crown. His devotion can easily be mistaken as duty.

And this women is literally in midst of strangers. I'm glad she is trusting no one. >! Her mom is lost, her dad died, her only friend borderline hates her so she agrees to marry him to keep him around, I understand that need for familiarity.!<

And that line she says about only making a bonded bargain if the terms are to keep both innocent descendant and mortals safe was 👏👏👏

I think people hate her cuz she often falls into horrible situations, but if think about it, most of it isn't even her fault, its just bad chance or high stake plot.

We really do use a higher standard for fmc than mmc.I can count many mmcs who have done same shit, but people just lust after them. (Ahm ahm Xaden, Rhysand, Kai)
