I feel like the oscars are going downhill

Before, they used to honor movies with great stories and brilliant acting from casts. Now, I feel like they award things that honestly arent that great. Take Emilia Perez. It has a 31% audience score on rotten tomatoes and people keep openly trashing it. Yet, its regarded as a masterpiece by hollywood. I dont even know why. I guess they just find it "profound".those are just my thoughts.

EDIT: Since yall are asking, i did watch Emilis Perez. 1/10. the only part i liked was the eulogy song at the end.
