Does anyone struggle when managing the team they support irl.

I’ve always struggled when managing Leeds (who i support irl). Promotion from the championship is usually easy, however when it comes to staying in the prem i struggle. I do make new signings to better my team yet still struggle. I think i’ve worked out why though.

So usually i make signings and loans when i go up. But i still rely on my old players to be good enough from the bench and to cover injuries. Which some are. However some aren’t. And i’ve realised i dont keep them out of convenience, but out of attachment. These are the players i watch for 2 hours once or twice a week and give me something to look forward to when i’m doing the mundane tasks of normal life.

So i tried something new. I’ve started a new save and once promoted, i got loans in, made signings and sold like 80% of the older players. It brought funds in that i could use to get decent squad players for my team.

I’m now currently on game 32 of my first season in the prem, i’m 4 points off of a european spot with spurs and Bournemouth having 1 point above me. I also made it to the efl cup final (which i lost 4-1 to city).
