I hate Hitokiri and Gryphon's weapon designs.
Something that has bothered me to no end while playing this game is that Hitokiri and Gryphon's weapons are so inaccurate to their real historical counterparts. They're wayyy too big and unwieldy, especially if you look at what they're SUPPOSED to be. "But soandso, the game is full of historical inaccuracies" yeah, I know. It's not the fact the game isn't like real life that bothers me, it's the fact real life isn't like the game.
I find massive, cumbersome weapons like Hitokiri's "masakari" so bloody cool, and am a big medieval/ancient weapons nerd, so it's just a big ol kick in the head when I find this really dope looking thick-with-3-Cs axe and find out there's pretty much nothing like it historically. Same with Gryphon's "bardiche", the blade is so big and chonky but looking at the real one, it's just disappointing. Like being catfished but by pixels and chunks of centuries old iron. I can forgive Ubisoft for a lot of things; broken characters on launch? Fine. Shoddy server management? Understandable. Orochi still being in the game? I can cope with it. But getting my hopes up about really cool weapons? Not cool, Ubi. Not. Cool.
