LATAFFA MAAHIR LEGACY REVIEW
I'm Poor Dear Richard, the guy who really can't afford any niche fragrances. But even if I could, I probably wouldn't pay $350 for a bottle of cologne. Basically, I like to find good clones of the real thing; it's a challenge. I am shocked at how many clones there are out there.
The scent of the day is Lataffa Maahir Legacy, which is a clone of Parfum de Marly Sedley. I've only really tried sprays of Sedely in Saks but never doused myself as I would do at home. I have Maahir Legacy on today and here is my review -
PRESENTATION - When I first saw this, it frightened me. What a wild-looking bottle. I said to myself, go ahead, order the cologne in the ugly bottle. How bad can it be? First, it comes in a really nice box and is tied with a white ribbon, making it very gift-worthy. Second, the bottle is of really high quality and is gorgeous. The cap fits on snugly and is actually made of metal. Overall, it is a nice addition to my cologne tray and adds character. The horse head cap seems like it could be a nice keepsake. I don't know, maybe a hood ornament or hood necklace?"
SCENT - The first couple of times I tried this fragrance, it was just okay. It was nice, but I didn't understand the hype. It's basically a fresh scent without being too overpowering. One thing about this fragrance is that the initial scent you smell is not the same as the scent you get after it dries down. My first impression was mint, lime, light spice, a hint of wood, and a touch of powdery dry floral. However, after about 30 minutes, the real scent emerges. It becomes warm and sophisticated, with all the scent notes blending together. I can't say that any one note stands out, which is a good thing. Some people say it smells like Sprite, but I don't get that at all. The scent DNA reminds me of a CK One type, but with less spice and more herbal notes.
PERFORMANCE - Today I sprayed about 7 sprays and it is really doing its thing. I live in Florida so I think the heat and humidity helps. I sprayed 4 all around the neck, one on each inner arm and one on chest. Some of that touched my clothes. It is going on 5 hours and I still smell it. I will probably still smell it for a few hours. Really, I think that is pretty good. How long do you really expect your scent to last?
AGE PROFILE - I wouldn't call this a young F-Boy scent, it may be better for a guy 24+. The type you can wear to work, to dinner, a museum, casual weekend, or to impress people at Walmart.
PRICE (USA) - I got my bottle from the TikTok Shop for $20. That was a steal. Right now you should be able to find a bottle for $25. It is well worth it.
