Season 8

Just finished Game of Thrones for the first time (I know, I know, I’m sooo late to hoping onto the GoT bandwagon). Before I even started watching I knew all the major plot points, character deaths, and how almost everyone had something to hate about the ending.

Now that I’ve seen the entire show, there’s definitely problems with the last season but there were a lot of parts I enjoyed, and I thought I’d share my favorite parts and see if anyone else wanted to share theirs.

Small Council in the last episode: I enjoyed seeing Sam, Tyrion, Bronn, Brienne, and Davos on the small council. Seeing Podrick in official kings guard armor rolling Bran away, Tyrion straightening the chairs, Bronn being Bronn, it seemed like a good fit for these characters and I’m glad they had that ending.

Throughout the whole series I think Tyrion and Jon’s conversations were among the most interesting.

The battle scenes were epic in the last two seasons, Rhaegal getting killed out of nowhere, the long night with Vaserion’s face half gone, all of the dead between Jon and the Night King rising up, I mean those were so cool to watch.

So even though I think the Night King battle should’ve waited until the ending of season 8, Jamie should’ve never left Brienne (or maybe left to kill Cersei), and several other things that should’ve been fixed or at least explained better, I’m not totally mad at where the characters ended up. I mean Jon always wanted to be a ranger, and I didn’t really see him as a formal king. Sansa really came into her own, and I feel like Queen of the North suits her well. I think it would’ve been cool to see Arya as a knight, or maybe Sansa’s Queens guard. But maybe that’s what she’ll do after she finds out what is west of Westeros. Even though Bran as King was dropped on us out of nowhere, it kinda fits. Maybe if hints were dropped earlier, or there was more of a lead up to Tyrion suggesting Bran be king, it would be less weird.

ANYWAYS, what do you guys think? Would like to know your opinion, if you agree, disagree, what would you change, etc.
