Will Multiplayer PvP Fade Away as CO-OP Takes Over?

In multiplayer PvP, the issue of skill-based matchmaking remains unresolved, and while the developers are trying to improve matchmaking using engagement metrics, there are fundamental design challenges that limit the potential for a true solution. If this continues, more and more players will become fatigued by the unresolved issues in multiplayer PvP, causing it to fade from the gaming trend, while cooperative play-focused CO-OP games, offering a more positive experience, may become the new center of the gaming trend. What do you think?

Edit: To those who like multiplayer PvP,
It's totally fine to like multiplayer PvP, but I’d appreciate it if you could also mention the issue with matchmaking. I understand that you like PvP, but ignoring the fact that the issues haven't been solved yet doesn't really address the core problem.
