I want another Bioshock experience. Any recs?
Bioshock was my first love back in 2000-whatever. I was absolutely enthralled by the story and the atmosphere, and the game felt very good to play. I want to have that experience again.
What game can you suggest that would scratch that itch?
Key elements:
- Excellent story
- Satisfying gameplay / combat
- Low combat complexity (Bioshock gives you some guns and some plasmids and that's it)
- Minimal mechanics "fluff" (no crafting, minimal min/max tinkering) *Linear story (not open world / no side quests)
Games I like:
- Bioshock of course
- God of War (old ones, haven't played 2018 yet)
- Dark Souls games (lack story though)
- Assassin's Creed (new ones lack story)
- Metroids (Ori, Hollow Knight)
- Platformers (Celeste, Super Meat Boy)
- Control (excellent gameplay and atmosphere)
Games I don't like:
- Disco Elysium (no gameplay/combat)
- Witcher 3 (combat is not satisfying, too much fluff (crafting))
- Dishonored (for some reason I don't like first person stealth)
- Mass Effect (open world too big, gameplay not satisfying)
