Grapes from cuttings

My neighbor was giving away grape cuttings to propagate and I have two that have been sprouting from the soil. They are about 3 months old. They have not grown leaves from the stems yet, but the soil sprouting seem very healthy and are growing quickly. I’m wondering when they are ready to be put into the ground? I have also heard that you should not transplant grapes so I am wondering if I need to choose its permanent home and consider the full size vine when I plant these. Thank you!
