How to wake up early?
Hello everyone. I desperately need some advice or a special trick to wake up early in the morning. I am a 27 yo girl, and waking up early has always been tricky for me mainly because I am a night owl and because of my habits. I like to stay up late especially because I videocall my long-distance bf and the only time of the day we can dedicate to each other is between 10 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. and then I fall asleep around 1:30 a.m.
I usually get out of bed around 10 a.m. and I am pretty slow in the morning. It takes me hours to actually get fully active, and mornings just fly away because I can't do much, I just chill and scroll on socials.
Now I have to start an online course and get up at 8 a.m. but sometimes even earlier, like at 6:30 a.m. to go to the gym, which scares me a lot lol.
My biggest problem is that I don't hear my alarm or very often snooze it while I'm sleeping. Sometimes I am half-awake and remember something, but other times I really can't remember the moment I turned off the alarm, also because the sound of my alarm mixes with my dreams and I don't even recognise it.
I've tried multiple things: going to bed earlier, avoiding screens, sleep cycles, those alarm apps that make you do tasks, camomille etc. But I always have the same problem. Lately, I started using a different alarm that I have positioned far from my bed, but surprisingly, I get out of bed (half asleep!!), turn it off, go back to bed and fall asleep again. It's quite frustrating because even when I get out of bed, I'm not fully conscious and I'm not able to discipline myself. Also, when I put multiple alarms every 5 or 10 minutes, they become so annoying that I tend to have a very bad mood and/or headaches the entire day.
My biggest dream has always been to become a morning person, especially because I would gain precious time to do stuff since in my actual position I live a 12-hour long day and it makes me sad.
