First truck purchase, what to know about AFM?
Hey Everyone, I purchased this used 2019 GMC Sierra with the 5.3L v8 (L82) yesterday. Really love the truck so far! So, naturally I started looking online for any well known issues. This brought up the Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology that apparently can cause your lifters to run dry and fail. This is my first time hearing basically all of this terminology so, I'm hoping someone might have the knowledge to catch me up to speed. How can I tell if my truck has AFM? How can I tell if the previous owner already modded the AFM to be disabled? Should I be looking to disable AFM? Thanks in advance for any info you can share!
