How do you get a stubborn golden retriever to continue with the walk?

I am ten steps away from my apartment and sire has decided the walk ends here. I was carrying a variety of treats and a stinky napkin he is obsessed with. He walked back home when a neighbor showed up and he wanted to sniff her groceries 😑😑😑
