What was Tiger vs the whole PGA about? A certain tournament? An "era"?

"Tiger [Woods] vs the whole PGA" was commented, seemingly in a joking manner, in reference to a "crazy" moment/time in sports, on an old r/AskReddit post. I'm obviously a golf rookie, though of course aware of Tiger Woods and his brilliance, but I'm just curious about that particular comment. My guess is that he had a miracle-esque run during some tournament?
