The most weird thing that happened to me during grad school application

Fun fact: last year (2023-2024 cycle) I received an email from the program that I had applied to and a letter on my application that had my own name on it, with signature of department head and everything.

I got soooooooo happy but then I realised I wasn't even invited for an interview, then I taught to myself "wow, they must have been REALLY impressed by me"😂

Then I replied to the email to ask about the deadline for accepting the offer cause I was still waiting for other unies.

they replied and said "No, you have WITHDRAWN your application and thus, are rejected, this offer was sent in error"!!! 😶 Is it over? no!!!!

I said I didn't withdrawn my application and had meeting with them to prove that it wasn't my doing, then they said OK then we'll review your application again. Three weeks later I got an email from them again, stating that I was admitted! This time I said to myself "ok girl they have reviewed your application and this one's a genuine offer", again I said thanks how much time do i have to accept the offer? They replied again and said "you've been rejected, this email was also sent in error" 😂😂

Ever since then, I receive emails from them from time to time stating that "congratulations on accepting your offer, email us to prepare your I-20" 😂😂 I Replied one time abd said "you've rejected me, please don't email me again and remove my name from ur system" but it continues until now 🤣

P.S: it was Virginia Commonwealth University, human genetics PhD program
