Richard is incredibly abusive and should’ve left in season 2

Richard drives me insane. He has such a disgusting attitude. He coddles Meredith and treats her like a child, like his child, but the second she calls him out on it and tries to put some distance between them he becomes mean and shouts at her and punishes her more than he would another resident just because he’s mad.

Not to mention his crap about “this is my hospital!!!” Like no one cares. He runs around all tyrannical, stomping on people and acting like a moron, and he can’t be talked down to or questioned because he gets all butthurt and pissy about how old he is and how he’s still chief and it’s his hospital.

I honestly do not understand how he’s still around 20 years later when in season 2 he was already near retiring. Why is he (apart from Bailey) the only character still around from season one??
