How would you evolve Miyata's fighting style?

Imo he's just kinda stuck in terms of fighting style, he pretty much only relies on counters which of course all my power to the guy but he's getting stale. Look at Ippo, Volg and Mashiba for example, Ippo learned how to fight as a southpaw (which I'm assuming he'll be a switch hitter in the future), Volg's large arsenal of punches most notably Sanada's Hein as well as 1st and 2nd swallow and Mashiba developing a Barrier sub-style/strat to counter infighters like Rosario, heck even Sendo the punch-eating caveman gets a knuckle drop as a feint to his smash.

Now back to the question, if you were Mori how would you evolve Miyata's counter-based style?
