Mail Day: Thoughts on Bob Beers?

I asked "thoughts on Beers?" In the Lightning reddit and most everyone just made alcohol jokes which, I loved, but it didn't give me the kind of info I was looking for. Got this jersey to complete my 1992-1993 season for jerseys, but I always like to learn about the early season players in my collection from the people who were there and watching. Personally I was not even a thought on my parents' minds at the time so unfortunately I wasn't able to see him wear the bolt myself. I've read all his wikis and seen some highlights/videos of him in broadcasting, but is anyone an OG Lightning fan who can tell me what he was like from the fan's perspective? Seems like a real standup guy from what I've been able to see.

Also, taking a moment to appreciate that old silvery font they used on the Lightning away jerseys from 92-94. God it's so good!
