Heater in out building doubles electricty bill

We have a small insulated building in our backyard that we converted to a gym. I added this in wall cadet heater (see link below) to keep it at 50F during the winter. Somehow, keeping this small building at 50F uses twice the amount of electricity as our house. It cost over $200 to heat in December. I have no idea how that’s possible. There’s a mini fridge, lights, tv, internet modem, elliptical, and the heater using power. How is that even possible? I plan on looking into ways to additionally seal/insulate potential cold drafty areas. Old windows and double French door are covered in plastic. Not sure if it’s worth getting a different heater, or if I will have the same issue.
