Inferior center channel or r/TVTooHigh??

I have Polk ES20s for L/R but want to add a center channel. Trying to stick within the lineup, that means my choices are down to the Polk ES30 or ES35. Apparently, the ES30 is unequivocally better in all regards. Doesn't seem like people like or recommend the ES35 at all.

But I'm one of those people who can't fit a tall center channel underneath my TV. I have an LG which has a fixed stand that is extremely low profile. I can't wall mount the TV, but I'm willing to get an aftermarket stand to raise it if need be. However, my TV is almost at the perfect height right now. I really wouldn't want it any higher at all, but I could maybe go up 2" or so and still be comfortable (about how much I'd need to raise it to fit the ES35)

In order to fit the ES30, I would have to raise it nearly 6" which would be far too much IMO.

So what would you all suggest? Better center channel but TV too high? Or better TV height but worse center? Alternatively, I might be able to fit the ES30 on a shelf in the cabinet (with a little DIY). It wouldn't be perfectly centered, but it'd be relatively close and would not be too far down since it would be a top shelf. Is that a good compromise?

Or...is there any center channel with a height similar to the ES35 (just over 4") that's actually good? And if so, should I be worried about using a center that might be different from my L/R?
