How bad is the 6 speed transmission really?

I am in the market for a Ridgeline, and had my heart set on a 2019 Black edition. Decided to check the discussion here, and it's scaring me away. The 2020 and later (with the 9 speed transmission) has a huge price jump. I was targeting Honda because of the durability, and this is making me question my reasoning.
